If your interests involve automation, compare WCU's Robotics and Automation concentration with Campbell's Electromechanical Systems concentration. Campbell's published plan includes electronics, automation, actuators and sensors. WCU's program finishes with an industry-mentored team project. University admission and engineering progression are different steps

ECU evaluates you for engineering after university admission. Its department publishes separate criteria for first-year, transfer and change-of-major applicants. Students who begin in precalculus need the specified summer calculus work to keep the standard four-year schedule.

Campbell lets students declare engineering before they meet the prerequisites for Engineering Design I, but those prerequisites still control course entry. Wake Forest recommends major declaration after 40 earned hours. WCU invites transfer students to discuss an individual engineering course plan. Your next step depends on which of these routes matches your academic record.

Put program fees and entry year into the cost comparison

WCU's NC Promise tuition has different published rates for North Carolina residents, new nonresidents and qualifying continuing nonresidents. Compare the rate for your own entry term, then add fees and living costs. ECU uses Main Campus undergraduate schedules organized by residency and enrollment.

Campbell's first engineering semester includes a technology charge and the ENGR 120 toolkit fee; later semesters carry a continuing engineering fee. Does ECU admission automatically admit me to engineering?

No. Select Engineering on your application and the department conducts a separate engineering evaluation after ECU admission. It issues its own decision.

Can I transfer into a general engineering degree in North Carolina?
