Admission & progression

  • Utah requires a 3.0 undergraduate GPA and recommends at least 3.2 for MS admission. The GRE is waived for applicants with a prior STEM degree.
  • Applicants provide transcripts, a statement of purpose, résumé or CV and at least one recommender who completes the online form. A separate recommendation letter is optional.
  • Applicants from allied STEM disciplines can discuss prerequisite proficiency courses with the graduate coordinator. English-proficiency requirements apply where appropriate.
