Mines’ mechanical advising guidance emphasizes linked courses leading into Capstone Design I and II. For a transfer student, the useful question is which of those courses can begin in the first term on campus. Bring a proposed transfer-credit evaluation to an adviser and ask for a semester-by-semester sequence. A large number of accepted credits may still leave a chain of required mechanical projects to complete.

At CU Boulder, senior design culminates in hardware or software presented at the end of the academic year. The department describes a proposal process for matching industry teams and sponsors. For the resident tuition examples at Mines and CU Boulder, the College Opportunity Fund allowance is already reflected in the stated student-share figure. Subtracting it again would understate the price. CU’s example also belongs to a specified entering guarantee group. Compare the rate sheet for your own circumstances, including the number of credits and the required fees listed separately.

Colorado State’s base attendance estimate excludes differential tuition, while its current schedule charges qualifying junior and senior students by course subject. That means your later-year budget depends partly on the classes you take. Add technology and special course charges where applicable, along with housing, transport and materials.
